OWA - Windows 7 - Red Cross

Hi

Any one help me with this...

I have an SBS 2003 server, and my users access their email via OWA (Outlook
Web Access)...

All works fine with XP, but when someone logs in externally to OWA with
Windows 7 or Vista, they cannot put any text in the entry field of the
replies..., there is just a red cross in the top corner of the input box...

I've looked around the web and all the stuff I find seems to be to do with
Exchange 2003 and not Exchange under SBS 2003....

Can any one tell me what I need to install or do to fix the problem...?

Thanks in advance....

Sounds like the problem that hit Vista over three years ago. Do you
have this hotfix applied?

Hi Jim

The problem is that it is for Exchange 2003, with a min of Exchange SP2
installed...

SP2 for Exchange 2003 doesn't apply to SBS 2003 and it won't let you install
it..., so, in turn you can't install Exchange2003-KB911829-v3-x86-ENU.exe

That's where I've fallen in a hole a bit....?

What makes you say that SP2 doesn't work on SBS2003? it does, as we've
got it on all 6 SBS 2003 servers that I manage (and we had the Red X
problem in Vista three years ago).

It does work, and it's a supported configuration.

Exchange SP2 does indeed apply to SBS 2003. What difficulty/errors do you
see when attempting to install it?

Ooooooo!...., I'll give it a go...

I could have sworn I'd tried it before and it wouldn't install..., hence me
giving up...

Cheers Jim...

No problem Col, it's worked fine for us since we installed it so you
should be fine.
