Ox80070643, Office2003August Updates fails

Windows Knowl. gives instructions to check ose is correctly set up, have done
so, but still will not install. Junk EMAIL update initially didn't install,
after checking ose this appears to have installed(same error note).

Step 2: Re-create the path of the original installation source in the registry
Especially for 80070643 if a registry cleaner is used

You receive an "Error 80070643" error message when you try to update Office 2003 by using
Software Update Services

Thanks TaurArian, have followed through, had to use method 3 (903772) to
rectify, other methods didn't work.

I turned off OSE (Office Source Engine) service in services previously
because I was looking to make my system more efficient... but that is
needed for these updates to install properly... turning that back on
(setting service to 'manual' and starting it) allowed for the updates
to install trouble-free... ymmv.

I like a multitude of others are in the same situation. I have tried to turn
the OSE to manual but I am still unable to install these updates..

Hopefully no more problems now with Office updates.
