PA Bear misled me!

PA Bear nagged me for 2 years to install SP2. I did. I followed his
instructions. 18 hours later the computer crashed and will not boot.
It may or may not be SP2 related. But PA Bear immediately accused me
of failing to follow instructions, insulted my chosen career, inferred
that I won't be able to finishe school, blamed me for the computer
trouble, and refused to help me anymore.

He gives good advice but beware -- if anything goes wrong, he'll blame
you and jump ship.

Anyone worth a grain of salt will tell you to install SP2.

Sortry to be blunt but...

If your PC crashed and burned upon its installation then it was because you failed to
practice Safe Hex and failed to maintain the computer properly. It isn't Robear's fault.
It falls squarely on YOUR shoulders.

It has always been recommended to install SP2 but to ensure that you were SP2
ready.

If your problem related to SP2, I don't believe it would take 18 hours to
fail, but would have caused problems immediately.

At all times material, you were responsible for your own computer, it's
maintenance and upkeep. At all times material you were free to accept or
disregard any advice given.

I have never known P A Bear to be malicious and make personal attacks upon
users of this group. In fact I believe he has been very patient with you.

I have read many of the posts between you and PA Bear and didn't see
anything misleading in the ones I have read.

Did you look at any of the threads you started
which his Google search turned up for you?

In particular I thought that the suggestion of Mark F.
(repairing fragmented MFT) could have been worth looking at.
