PAge display error

[Error number: 0x80072EE2]
Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the requested
page. You may find the following resources helpful in resolving the problem:

I am unable to display the windows update once I have initiated the initial
search for updates. I get the above error and have tried the suggested
methods to corrrect. Any suggestions? The PC is XP Sp1.

you try to use Windows Update

Give us some details. That link deals with numerous cases
so telling us you tried it all doesn't even tell us what you did
or which cases apply.

For example, you haven't disclosed yet whether you are using WUv4
or WUv5 which has implications for what diagnostics you might have.
Nor have you confirmed Jim's guess that you have a third-party firewall
in place or given any details about that.
