I can't access WU with SP2 installed. It says "This page can not be
displayed, check your security settings..." and so on. All setting are in
order, I'm sure.

Besides, the "Home" button that should lead to WU home is greyed out.

Anyone know a solution?
Thanks.

Dmitry,

Check the hosts file located in WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc for any
entry that points to Windows Update or Microsoft. Delete any that you
find, save the file, then close it.

Please check for the presence of spy|ad|malware on the system as they
have a tendency to block updates so that they can do their dirty work.
Scan the system here :

Also, have a look here for assistance even *if* nothing is detected on
the system :

Dmitry,

Please not the home button will be grayed out when you access Windows update
and performs a scan on your system.

You may try the following suggestion to resolve the error:
Enable Active Scripting in Internet Explorer
1. Start Internet Explorer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
3. Select the Security tab.
4. Select the Internet Web zone icon.
5. To adjust the security level, click Default Level.
6. The Are you sure you want to change the security settings for this zone
dialog box opens.
7. Click Yes.
8. Click Apply, and then click OK.
9. Try Windows Update again.

Thanks,

Dear Mow,

Thanks, I will try the site when I get back home. But I always check my PC
with Ad-Aware, Spyware Blaster and SB Search & Destroy. They find only
cookies...
