Parental Controls not starting!

Hi

My son was merrily working on PC and the Parental Controls "curfew
kicked in. I was well chuffed! Anyway, I wanted him to carry on workin
- it was homework! - so I popped into my Admin account and the *Parenta
Controls "settings" and the "View Activity" reports were **NO
**starting*

I've tried restarting the service
I've tried doing the same by activating the "hidden" admin account
I've stopped as much software as possible but still it fails

At startup I still get the "reminder" to view Parental controls, so
click on that and a window flashes up really quickly, and then is gone

Sounds suspiciously like a config issue to me, but I can't spot a
error anywhere...
Any one else seen this behaviour

ps. I've read all the posts elsewhere about the Reg settings (Path an
REG_SZ), about the creating another Admin a/c, about removin
applications, about checking the OS for faults, services.msc, oh
bucket loads.... fact remains that Parental controls worked (lovely i
fact!), but don't work now, and it's tedious that Microsoft have don
jack all about it... ANYONE ANYONE ANYONE Comment... go on..

It can take a quite while to load all the "activities" .. did you wait
several minutes? I noticed that the thing seems like it has hung but after a
few minutes it all shows up.

The window appears then vanishes really quickly.

I've done the same with Task Mgr running - you see the process start
then just die, for no apparent reason.
Nothing listed in the EventVwr either... :-(

Any other ideas?

UPDATE: I put up with this for well over 18months, I never found
solution
What a bore
Had to reinstall Vista x64 Ultimate - the reinstall process is quit
slick

Parental Controls functionality now restored. Case closed
