TIA

I have to install a computer on a network that needs to be allowed access to
about 100 websites only. All others should be blacklisted. I have read on
the net that Vista has this ability. Where and how?

Any information is greatly appreciated,

Dave H.

Hi Dave,

I think you've read about the whitelist feature regarding UAC and
programs, not web browsing.

Cybersitter has a whitelist feature that should work for you. There is
a business version as well. We recommend it to all our home clients
with children.

Read about the features here:

Terry,

I appreciate your response and thank you it seems like Cyber Sitter is a bit
too much. Can't the UAC be configured with a white list?

Again, thanks,

Dave H.

Dave,

For programs, not web sites (AFAIK). What is a "bit too much" on
Cybersitter? You could disable everything but the whitelist.

I have to admit that I am confused. I was reading a site that stated that
Vista's "Parental Controls" could create a "white list" of sites.

With all due respect, why should I pay an extra $40.00US for a program that
duplicates, features of Vista?

I am using vista and it does have the ability using parental controls to only
allow access to web sites that you specify in a list

Well, for one, you didn't state you're already using Vista. So you want
to pay for the upgrade for Vista, but complain about paying $40 for a
different program that can do the same for less?
