Cannot get Partition Genius to recognize my SATA drives (recognizes
everything else).

Will Partition Magic 8.0 work with Vista?

Regards

No, it will not. See this page, and click on the tab for System
Requirements. You will see that Vista is not mentioned:

'Partition Software - Partition Hard Drive | Norton PartitionMagic'

Partition Magic isn't compatible with Vista; in fact the software was ruined
when Norton took over Powerquest. I certainly do not use any norton
products.

I prefer Acronis Disk Director.

Incidentally doesn't Vista's own Disk management recognise the SATA drive.
You should be able to partition the drive from within Vista.

How about trying the Gparted Live Linux CD. It's free and will almost
certainly accomplish what you want to do.

Powerquest were not taken over by Norton - they were taken over by Symantec,
just like Norton was. Norton used to make good software, back in the day,
just like Symantec used to.

Not a direct answer:

Doesn't Vista's own Disk Management recognize the drives? Does the drive's
manufacturer have any instructions and or software drives for the drive on
their website?

Partition Magic is marketed under the Norton name - to be precise. It's
still junk compared to what it used to be.
