I've tried to shrink my c drive to provide more memory for my recovery d:
drive. While the shrink process works the extend stays grayed out for the
d: drive. I noticed that the graphic shows the unallocated space to the
right of the c drive. How can I use disk management to extend my d
partition, or is it possible to use diskpart. If diskpart do i shrink and
then extend or does diskpart do both when performing the extend function

If the recovery partition was created by the manufacturer/vendor, leave it
as it is.. make no changes to it..

LEAVE THAT PARTITION/DRIVE ALONE. This also means don't use it to
store anything.

It holds all the files you need for recovering from a catastrophe and
if you play around with it, you may well lose that ability .
