Please Help!!!

Up until the other day I was using my email with no problems. Now a windows
security box with a orange flower on it pops up when I open the mail and
prompts me to logon with user name and password to incoming mail. I have
typed in the correct username and password and it does not work. I have
tried different passwords in case it was asking for a different one, and
simply nothing works. I know the password is correct. My son and I have
tired different things and nothing works. We are running windows vista with
mcaffee anit-virus. Up until this morning it would download the mail and let
me read it and I couldn't send, but now it won't even do that. I am totally
lost about it and really need my mail to work since my son has forms in there
that I need to finish and mail to his college. Does anyone out there know
how to fix this? Our ISP is Verizon and we run DSL. I can access my mail
online thru the webpage but not thru windows mail. I don't want to have to
transfer all my contacts and the forms I can't transfer. PLease does anyone
know how to fix this gliche???????? I think its some kind of windows update
flaw!!!!

Your problem is called "McAfee."
Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee
or Norton security programs. Those will need to be
uninstalled, not just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see
http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

If after uninstalling McAfee, you still have the same problem,
it means McAfee corrupted your email account. Delete that
account (Tools, Accounts, select the account, Remove), restart
Windows Mail and then re-create that account.

I'm having the exact problem, but I do not have Mcafee. I do have Windows
Live OneCare.

Sometimes a mail account gets corrupted for no apparent reason.
Delete the account, restart Windows Mail, then re-create that account.

The AV companies like McAfee and Symantec (Norton) pay (bribe) the
computer sellers to install a trial copy of their antivirus. This is done in
the hopes that you will buy the full version when the trial runs out.
The incompatibility problem is not widely known outside of this cadre
of Windows Mail experts.
