Password protecting folders

Is it possible to password protect folders and/or files via the OS or would
it be necessary to use some other program?

Hi Doug,

You'd have to use another program. Vista, like previous versions of Windows,
uses permission sets to determine who has access to files/folders.
Passwording is far less secure and most schemes are easily hacked.

You have no out-of-the-box solution for this, other than *EFS
(*E*ncrypting *F*ile *S*ystem) feature of Windows 2000+ NTFS, or fo
Vista Business/Enterprise/Ultimate the *BitLocker* tool (you need th
TPM compliant BIOS).
