Both MS06-040/921883 and MS06-042/918899 were re-released for Win2K03 (SP1).
You don't need to uninstall anything to be able to install either of the
re-released patches.
If one of the patches was re-released for Win2K03 SP1 and neither Windows
Update, Microsoft Update nor Automatic Updates offered it to you, the
re-released patch is already installed.
