No, don't go online before installing SP2. SP2 comes with a firewall, so
it's all right to go online with SP2. If you're installing XP with SP2,
no worry about going on line for updates. I would install the updates
before installing *anything* else, including your anti virus. Then your
programs and then your anti virus, anti spyware type programs and then
your devices like a printer or camera. Do a clean up and defrag afterwards.
