I've posted on the Xbox forums, but now I'd appreciate some feedback from a
potentially more reliable PC community.
My 360 (upgraded to Elite 360) has been used offline for over a year.
Broadband was hooked up, and my 'gamtertag' - the off & online profile used
to track game achievements, friends lists etc - was activated online, giving
me a free 30day trial of online gaming.
I signed up with my already-in-use Windows Live ID, browsed what Live had
to offer, then took my first dip into online gaming - just to test everything
was a-ok.
Next day, I access my profile from my PC for the first time (using the
same email address/password) - browsing my profile and finishing off a few
minor details that you can include.
Then? I am unable to even sign-in to the Xbox Live service. It still
works, and the connection is perfect (full speed, no router changes at all) -
I can even recieve the machines OS updates (whilst "testing" the connection).
I get the feeling that if I hadn't accessed my profile from my PC, I'd
still be able to get online (with the 360). What on earth could have happened
to "invalidate" my profile? I'm even unable to "recover gamertag" by
inputting my name, pass and email - I get passed the Terms and Conditions
page, then it ends with "sign-up is currently unavailable. Please try again".
I've been "trying again" for a week. Clearly, that's not a temp server
problem.
Is there anyway I can delete or reset my PC profile? Or do ANYTHING to get
access to Live back? I have gotten no good answers from their support so far
- I hope someone here may have at least a clue with what to try next.
Thanks, for any feedback.
