PC dials out automatically

I downloaded & installed sp2. I have dial up modem. Download & install went
well. Now when I start pc, modem dials out automatically. I have firewall
and all other programs turned off to try to correct but still dials out. How
can I find out what is causing this? Ties up my phone line if I don't catch
this.

suggestions:
a) try to find what program does that.( It may be listed in your firewall
log file)

b) I would run an adware remover. ( lavasoft or spybots, hijackthis etc.)
c) look in network connections top menu advanced\dialup pref:autodail
options.)

Thanx JR. I will try this AM to find out what is dialing out. It has to do
with the SP2 though cuz it didn't do this til I downloaded & installed. Will
get back & let y'all know what's up.
