If it makes a difference that the PC is switched off for a few hours, then
this suggests a hardware problem.
What make of chipset is on the motherboard?
What version of Windows is this?
Can you ensure that the latest updates for the chipset drivers have been
applied, by direct download from the chipset manufacturer? (rather than from
the system manufacturer or motherboard maker).
