PC keeps auto-rebooting after SP2 install

I'm attempting to get SP2 working on a Mesh 7321 laptop (Athlon M, 384 MB
RAM), running XP Home. SP2 failed to install, so I used fixdb.bat, a script
which stops and restarts cryptographic services obtained from:

SP2 installed successfuly, however the PC kept rebooting during the Windows
loading procedure. I then ran system restore from safe mode. The result was
that it now reboots itself in any boot mode, including safe mode.

All help and ideas gratefully received.

On the same website you had been to previously it noted boot and shutdown
problems
