PC WILL NOT BOOT!!

I installed SP2 earlier today on my machine at work (XP Pro). I got home and
tried to do it (XP Home), and I received an error as the updates were
installing. The error was something along the lines of a packet's information
not matching something or other. (Had I known the machine would be rendered
useless, I would have written the error message down). After SP2 backed
itself out of the installation, I received a final message that said, "SP2
did not install completely and XP may not work correctly." When it
automatically restarted, ...well it was the last I have seen of XP. The boot
goes to the XP screen and just as it appears that the log-in screen is
coming, the machine reboots. Should I reinstall XP?
