Hi, Draxtor.
You posted to a "forum", but they simply relayed your post via the
"vBulletin USENET gateway" to where I am reading it, in the
microsoft.public.windows.vista.performance_mainten ance newsgroup on the
Microsoft public news server, a part of Usenet - but also accessible as
"Microsoft Communities" via Internet Explorer or any other web browser.
To cut out the middleman and post here directly, simply click here:

Now, to your problem...
I'm running Win7 now, but as I recall, the settings in Vista are virtually
identical. In Vista, press Start | Control Panel | Power Options. Here you
can change many settings, including "Choose when to turn off the display"
and "Choose when the computer sleeps". You should be able to find a setting
here that will do what you want.
Also here is 'Choose what the power buttons do". It took me a long time to
learn a couple of points here. First, when I'm ready to Shut Down, I can
click Start | Shut Down, as I always did. But the computer's Power Button -
be default - does exactly the same thing: It does an orderly shut down of
Windows and the computer, all the way to a power off. And, second, when I
come back from lunch and find my computer shut down except for a slow
blinking of the power LED, I can press the power button to wake it up. This
is MUCH better than pressing Reset! The computer resumes from where it was
when it nodded off; it doesn't have to reboot from scratch, losing whatever
I was working on and hadn't saved. ;<)
I hope these tidbits help you as much as they did me.
