I had the same message after installing the paid version of Spyware
Doctor. Finally, one day the laptop refuse to start and Vista went into
a recovery mode and uninstalled Spyware Doctor. PC Tools was not much of
a help, so I cancelled my license and got my money back. I'm now using
Tren Micro Antispyware.

PC Tools is some third-party application that apparently isn't working
well. If you don't want to uninstall it, then stop it from starting with
Windows. The first place to look to do this is from within the program
itself. Look for options/preferences. If you can't find that option in
the program, then use the System Configuration Utility.

Start Orb>type in Search box:

msconfig [enter]

This will make msconfig appear above. Right-click on it and choose "run
as Administrator".

This brings up the System Configuration Utility. Look on the Startup tab
and find the probable culprit. Uncheck the box next to its name, Apply
and OK out. You don't need to restart immediately, but the next time you
do you'll get a dialog saying you've used the Utility. Just tick the box
that says in effect, "don't bother me about this again". Windows
Defender will probably block this dialog when you restart; just
right-click on the WD icon in your system tray and choose "Run blocked
program".

Important - Do not use the System Configuration Utility to stop processes.

Hi Anthony,

Look in the options inside of the "PC Tools" program to see if there is
a option to stop it from starting with Vista.

You might also look in the startup programs in Windows Defender. Look
at the "One Way" section for Windows Defender in this tutorial for how.
