Hi,

I've been having errors acuring do to the PCI Modem not installing on
my PC. I've recently have done a complete reinstall amd subsiquent repairs
but the PCI Modem falls to deploy. I do have DSL 1.5 MB but not having the
PCI Modem installed lends to errors happening. I did find a way to put two
56 k modems on the PC but the device manager still reads that the PCI Modem
is not installed. What might this be and how does one correct it? I'd like
to avoid unnesecary errors. The PCI Moden that is suppose to go on the PC
is:
PCI\VEN_10B9&DEV_5459&SUBSY-545910A5&REV_00V4&21E63D15&O&18FO.
Anyone that can help out here I'd appreciate it. Thank you.

Hi Johnz414,

It's a V92 NetoDragon provided by Acer Labs. You could try d/loading then
installing the drivers that are available here:
http://members.driverguide.com/drive...4602&recheck=2
When you get the Download Access Restricted page, click in the radio button
beside "Download this file by logging in with your existing account", then
click on Continue.
Login: drivers
Password: all
click on Login

When you get the Notice: Your Login/Password Will Expire page, click on the
"click here" link in the line "If you don't want to create your new account,
click here to continue on to the site".

Regards,

Hi Patti,

Your suggestion worked along with me finding the application wizzard for
installing modums. I now have three modums installed including the
NetoDragon being used as the primary PC modum. Thanks.

Netodragon chipset is re-marked from smartlink chipset, so you can use
smartlink driver, which is continuously updated. OTOH, Netodragon has
never updated their driver (copyright infringement?). In order to make
smartlink driver to work with netodragon modem, you need to do the
following (for xp):

- Download smartlink driver from:
http://www.smlink.com/content.aspx?id=126
- Extract the zip file to a new folder
- Rename file "slntamr.sy_" in smartlink driver to something else, e.g.
"copy of slntamr.sy_".
- Copy "slntamr.sys" from netodragon driver to the new folder above,
and rename it to "slntamr.sy_"
- Run smartlink setup to install the driver.
