I'm new to windows vista I was previously using windows 98 but I've got a
question...why do some programs become shaded a peach color under the all
programs section under what used to be the "Start" button? The programs that
are shaded are things like Wordperfect Family Pack 3, Norton Antivirus,
Norton Security scan, and Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition. The
programs still work and I can't figure out why they are shaded a peach color.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
nixt

The outlining means the programs have been recently installed. As you start
to use them, the shading will disappear.

You can turn of this effect if you like, right click on the task bar >
Properties > Start Menu tab > Configure > uncheck 'recently installed
programs'.
