When I run the Reliability and Performance monitor why won't it view
both processors of my Intel dual core processors?

It does - the Resource OVERVIEW on the first page you see is just a that a
summary/overview.- go to the performance monitor node in the tree and add
whatever you want to each type of report (chart or text etc) and it will
see each core if you select them.

Perhaps your system doesn't recognize that you have a dual core.
At a command prompt type

set

at about 10 lines down there should be a line:
NUMBER_OF_PROCESSORS=2

if it is not there or says 1 you have problem in recognizing the dual core.

Thanks Michael, yes it shows 2 processors. FYI, I had failed to set the
option in the settings to view 2 processors.

OK, I obviously cannot see the forest while barking up the wrong tree

could you please give me a step by step for what you did to
'set the option in the settings to view 2 processors' as I am unable to find
such an option.
I use a gadget in the sidebar to monitor the two processors (downloaded from
MS) so have never tried to see both in Reliability and Performance before,
seems like I should set that 'option' but cannot find it.

Thanks,
Michael
