Permanentely allow something to run when IE is in protected mode.

Hi,

I have a toolbar in IE7 on Vista which I use a lot. I also used it on XP
without any problems. But for certain operations I do with this toolbar I
get a pop-up saying a web site wants to open web content, and I have to
allow for that to happen. The pop-up has a check box labeled "Do not show
me the warning for this program again. However, the check box is grayed out
so I can not check it. This means I get this pop-up every time I run this
operation. Very annoying. The only way to get rid of it is to turn
protected mode off in IE, but I would rather not do that if there's another
way to fix this.

So this toolbar is not Vista compatible. I'll bet it came out for IE7 under
Windows XP - before Vista was introduced. See if they have an updated
version available that works with protected mode.

This is the latest version of Yahoo! Toolbar. I have used it with IE7 since
it came out. On this laptop it even came pre installed on Vista. It has a
built in function to send a page by e-mail which I use a lot. It works just
fine, but this permission message keeps popping up. All I need is a way to
disable it since what I am doing isn't dangerous or anything like that.

I'm so tired of all this crap popping up in Vista for one reason or
another. I have been running Windows for years without any problems simply
because I protect myself. I do NOT want Microsoft to force their lame
protection on me. Sorry for the rant, I am just too old to accept a
babysitter!

You can use IE7 to send a page by email.
The right-hand top of IE7 where you have home, page, tools, etc. Click on
page.

IE6 had the same thing.
I use some Yahoo bits, and the latest version with them is always "beta"
software.

The current Yahoo! toolbar is not Vista ready, and not really very IE7
stable, either. The updated versions are getting worse instead of better.

I thought that may be the case. I went to Yahoo's website and found no
mention of Vista anywhere, concerning Yahoo Toolbar.

As a general principal I never allow "any" toolbars to take away my precious
real estate. Enough of that is chewed up by advertisements.

Heck! On some web sites you have to page down a page before you begin to see
the actual content. The entire previous view is all ***JUNK***.

Actually, using a Yahoo!-partner ISP (renamed AT&T) their own security suite
with DSL isn't Vista compatible, either. I can't take advantage of the
*included* AV, popup blocker, anti spyware, or easy account login. When I
set up my OEM, I originally came here to read which free AV I should use to
replace McAfee.

I hadn't been in the MS groups since OE5.5!
