Every time I go to a certain web site I get a banner across the top of the
page saying something like
"This site has been blocked from downloading Active X control"
Every time I have to click the banner and give permission.
I know the site and would like to give it permanent permission.
Can I do that ?

Depends on your browser and on your plugins - which you haven't told us
about...

I believe you can tweak security for that... but I don't recall the
details. Try posting to this group:

I have found IE8.0/Tools/Manage AddOns/ Downloads...............
I have about 15 items in the list.
Should I Google all of them ?
It seems odd to me there is only one site (Homestead; a Web Hoster) from
which I get the message.
And I do not get the options to say "OK from now on". I have to say OK
every-time.

Hello FDLeyda,

Open Start->Settings->Control Panel->Internet Options

Click on "Security tab" -> Internet -> Choose "Custom level"

Find "Download unsigned ActiveX controls" and set it to "Enable"

Press OK and you are ready.

It is not recommened to change another settings.
Also note that unsigned ActiveX controls might be really dangerous because
they are not digitally signated and thus you cannot be 100% sure they come
from a trusted sourse . Be careful

I set it at Prompt.
That is as brave as I can get.
Does anyone else have an opinion about this ?

Test. Go to the web site, and see if the banner is there.
