Here is the story.

Have Vista Home Premium. Computer with XP failed. So, they put the XP disk
in the Vista computer.

Now, I need to access the files that were/are in the XP "my documents"
folder.

When I try that, in many cases, Vista says I don't have permission. Why
should vista care what is on the added disk?

And how do I gain access to all those files? I have turned off User Account
Control since it kept getting in the way of other things I was trying to do.

Right click on the directory you want to access and select Properties >
Security > Advanced > Edit > Add

Add the User Name to which you have logged in on the Vista system. It must
be one with Administrative rights.
