What permissions to update Microsoft Office folder?

Hi All,

I have a WS08 Terminal Server. I installed a single license
of Excel 2003 (volume license) on it so that one user could run
Excel. Since it is a Terminal Server, I set the NTFS permission
so only he could use it. I also gave the Administrator rights
over it as well. Works fine. This all to keep Microsoft
Licensing on our good side.

Problem: MS updates has 7 updates to install in the Microsoft
Office directory and MS Update is getting permission denied.
What permissions do I need to give to the directory to make
MS Updates happy?

Many thanks,
-T

I would recommend that both the Administrators group (NB: not the Administrator
user) and the TrustedInstaller service be given full access.

Harry.
