Hi,
It does work. With every combination I've experimented with, through all the WLM betas to
current builds, through all the current Media Player 11 beta releases through Windows XP and
Vista I've always managed to get it to work.
The component is actually not that complicated.
One way to see if it's Messenger or WMP that has the problem is to just use another
application that supports sending this data to Messenger. If you don't already have it, go
grab a copy of Media Player Classic:
http://www.free-codecs.com/Media_Pla...c_download.htm
Then run the executable in the zip (no install needed), click the View menu, then Options,
then Tweaks. Make sure 'Send "now playing" information to MSN Messenger' is checked and
click OK. Then play a song or video in Media Player Classic and see if Messenger displays
the file information.
