1. Nope, this was actually considered a security risk and has been gone for quite some time.
2. I hear you. What I do myself is to type the name, press down arrow on the keyboard till
I get to what i want, hit the spacebar and then hit enter. I know that's hardly elegant, but
it works and it's fast when you get used to it. Another solution is to avoid that dialog and
instead bring up the main one, hit Ctrl-E, type the name and then hit enter (which opens the
first search result).
