Phishing domain?

A friend of mine emails me, it could be "hi how are you" or it could
be a forwarded joke with attachments.
Either way Windows Mail (Vista Business) goes into overdrive, blocks
the email, displays everything in red and denies access to the
attachment(s) claiming it is a potential phishing risk.
I've googled the domain name and get nothing but thier home page.
I've never had an email do this before.
Any idea what gives?

Use another email client such as Pegasus Mail

You have a complete control over what Windows Mail is doing. You can lower
the security threshold if you want. You can set it up in a way that
suspicious messages will be thrown into a junk mail box for you to be
examined later.

Don't use any Pegasus. It is a highly inappropriate advice by David Lipman.
Windows Live mail is capable of working the way you want. Just give it a bit
of thought.

What's wrong with Pegasus Mail? It was what I used to send my first email,
in 1994 at Sheffield University.

I know that you are an senile old duffer, but it's obvious you are new to
the internet.

Pegasus Mail is a highly capable email application.

It has regular expressions and rules for email filtering and can delete email off a POP3
server such that you never even download the email. Its regular expression and rules based
filtering are far more capable than WinMail's rules based filtering with a small OS
footprint. The distribution file is only 7.1MB. It is also easy to port from system to
system.

It has the SpamHalter intellegent spam filter.

IT has WhiteLists and BlackLists.

It has built-in phishing filters.

It has limited HTML rendering using BearHTML.

It supports LDAP lookups.

It supports templates and mailmerge.

It has no depencency on the Registry.

That's not all, there's more.

Pegasus Mail has been around for a very long time (circa 4th qtr 1989), long before OE and
its offspring WinMail.

It also has built-in compliancy for Novell Netware and can be the Netware server's office
email package which includes; chat, noticeboards, circulation messages and seeing logged on
users.

It is NEVER inappropriate to suggest an alternate application. Especially when it is better
and when it works on; Win9x/ME, NT, Win2K, WinXP and Vista. I have been using P-Mail,
since I was on win3.x, as my primary email application.

**What is inapproprate is you use of foul language here (albeit obfuscated to pass the MS
News Filters) and your trolling. It is also inappropriate to ask for proof and when it is
provided you ignore it completely.

I too sent my first email in 94 using Pegasus.
I'm just curious as to what is triggering this alert.
Same user/domain, different thread/subject. Everytime bingo!
Doesn't happen when he emails my Work address.... Exchange/Outlook/XP

What constitues a suspect email (phishing) in Windows Mail? If I knew the
criteria I would know what to look for.

I looked around Windows Mail and saw no options/preferences for phishing
settings.
I looked in IE and my filtering is disabled.
Where do I find this control over Windows Mail?

Jay; AlexB is a dangerous BOOFHEAD.

If you re-read his post, he starts off talking about Windows Mail; then in
the second paragraph, he changes the tale to Windows Live Mail.

Totally different programs!

AlexB has an agenda to screw people's computers(thus the wrong info), as he
is computer illiterate, but uses Linux at home!!
