php files help?

I am running Vista 32 and I erroneously chose the windows live media
application to use to open php files. I need to override that and change it
to what it should be, but I don't know how, because I also erroneously
checked "always use this application to open this type of file."

So my 2 questions are,

1) How do I override what I have done?

2) what is the proper application to use when opening php files?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Maybe the following article will be useful:

An utility to unassociate file types in Windows Vista

What are the .php files? Do you know which
software created them? The older MS Home
Publishing and MS Picture It! programs used
that format...could that be where they originated?

PHP is a programming language, usually used for dynamic webpages. There are
so many different programs that can be associated with the file type,
depending on what you like to use. Usually web authoring programs like
Dreamweaver, or text editors, like Editpad Pro.

I do not think that .php would be associated with anything by default. But
it would make sense to associate them with some sort of text editor. They
are only text files essentially.

PS. You can see which .php files you have recently encountered on the web
by searching your web history for .php.

Probably Internet Explorer. It's a webpage.
