Hi

I have recently scanned a very, very old photo into my pc.

The pic has a thin vertical 'crease' running top to bottom. I dont know
where it came from, but the original pic has the same problem so it might be
a processing mistake. In any case there is nothing I can do to correct the
original.

Can I correct the digital image ? I doubt it, but would welcome any ideas
becuase its is a rather nice pic.

Thanks

KK

Try GIMP (www.gimp.org/). It's free. Otherwise, you may have to go to one
of the paid programs or seek a professional restorer.

Any moderately advanced "Photo Shop type" program would have tools to clean
up the photo, either manually or automatically. Many times, you would never
be able to tell anything was done to photo.

If you have never used this type of program before, there may be a little
learning curve, so finding a friend or acquaintance with this type of
software to help would probably make the most sense for just one photo. If
you have a lot of old photos to scan and clean up, it might be worth the
time and effort to learn one of these apps.

BTW, this is a Windows Media Center forum and focuses on specific issues for
that topic, questions of this nature are better posted on a general forum or
one specific to digital photography.
