Is it possible to add pictures to a contact. When I use Windows Explorer to
view a contact I can see the
picture that I associated with that contact but when I'm in Windows Live
Mail I can't. If it makes a difference
I also use Windows 7.

Hello Don,

WLM's contacts are stored in a database and not viewable in Windows Explorer(only in WLM and WLMsgr).
The contacts one sees in Windows 7 should be the contacts migrated(for backward compatibility) from an earlier o/s(upgrade from
Vista) or copied or imported to that Contact folder.

The current version of WLM and afiak WLMsgr does not have an option to add a contact picture.

In fact, I have better success to view their Live ID display picture in the web UI(people.live.com or viewing my network on my Live
ID profile) than either WLM or WLMsgr regardless of my Live ID contacts online status(e.g.available)

Are you saying the newer version is LESS capable than the previous one?
Surely, since each contact has a HUGE icon where a picture normally would
be, there are plans afoot to add pictures to the contact?

Mine aren't so HUGE. Tools | Options | Layout. You can reduce the HUGEness
of your icons.

The last WLM version, released in Dec 2007, did not have picture-add capability either.
