Pictures don't appear on webpages

I am using a windows vista home premium computer. Whenever i go into a
webpage, i see an X in the place of most of the pictures. I would like to see
the pictures. I thank anyone that can help.

Best to post to the internet explorer newsgroup. It is OS independent.
Also this really isn't a vista.performance_maintenance issue.

I know how to fix it in firefox. Check in I.E. under tools, internet
options, advanced, and look at what's checked. The multimedia section
especially.
