Pictures forwarded in e-mails

I often get pictures forwarded in e-mails (Fwd: or Fwd: Fw format) and
occasionally get this message "Photo Gallery can't open this picture or
video. This file format is not supported or you don't have the latest updates
to Photo Gallery." I never had this problem wtih Windows 98. I have the
most recent version of Photo Gallery. Any suggestions?

I am currently trying to download an attachment on my e-mail but when
see that it shows a sentence saying "Photo Gallery can't open thi
picture or wideo. This file format is not supported, or you have don'
have the latest updates to Photo Gallery

I am having Vista Home premium

Please Help!

This is the main thing that my friend who is having this problem does
not know the file name..
Is there any way to upgrade the Photo Gallery?

Click Start > "Default Programs", click "Set your default programs", and
click "Set this program as default" for Windows Photo Gallery.
