Hi everyone,

I hope somebody can point me in the right direction for a solution to my
problem. The link for 'Pictures' on the Favourite Links menu does not work
anymore. It is still showing, but with a file icon rather than a folder
one. 'Properties' shows only a blank box. I can access the folder itself
going via the My Computer route, but, although all the folders are shown,
there are no photo's at all showing in any of them. A couple have smallish
family videos still showing, but no pictures at all. This is a recent
problem as I was able to access the photo's only a few days ago.

Not all pictures on my computer have disappeared though, as some that my
daughter has saved in a folder on the desktop are still there, and all the
Vista stock pictures remain. Its just the 'Pictures' folder that seems to
be affected.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello PMC,

You might double check using OPTION THREE in the tutorial below to make
sure that your "C:\Users\(user name)\Pictures" folder is still set with
it's default location.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Hi Shawn,

Thanks for the link. Option Three worked a treat at getting my folder back
onto the 'Favourite Links' section of the start menu and working again. The
problem still remains however that all my pictures are still not showing in
the sub-folders. Other files that were in there, videos, documents etc.,
are showing fine, but not a single photo. Any idea if I've lost them for
good, or if there is a way to get them back please?

All the best

You might see if the free program Recuva may be able to find and restore
them for you. I hope so.
