This didn't seem to get posted so I'm posting this again.

The subject says it all.

Thanks to anyone who can show me how!

Just put the DVD in the drive and it will probably start playing. If not
open MP from the program list in the Start menu and click the Play DVD sign
that you see.

Maybe your subject doesn't say it all.
Do you want to play your Vista installation DVD from your hard drive?

A good post says it all. Yours didn't.

If the DVD has no copy protection, you can just copy the files from the DVD
to a folder on the hard drive. If your computer came with dvd viewing
software like PowerDVD, you should be able to play the movie by doing
something like "open DVD file on hard disk drive" from its control panel.

When I go on a trip I often like to have a few of my DVD movies with me --
ones which are copy protected. I don't want to risk the original's being
stolen or lost, so I use the free version of DVDFab to extract a
protection-free backup that I store on my laptop's hard drive. I consider
that this complies with 'fair use' laws. I suppose some would say that if
my laptop were stolen I would have to contact the theif and give him the
originals so that the copright wouldn't be violated, but I hope I don't have
to ever make that decision.
