play .f4v file (video)

friend sent me a .f4v video file. was told win med player (v.10) can play
it. no luck, error message "cant read file".

can anyone confirm/deny if win med player will play a .f4v?

Have you tried renaming it to .mp4 or using Videolan VLC player or Adobe
Media Player?

i often convert the f4v to windows media player supported wmv or avi format

then it is just easy to ply f4v on my computer

for i am new and can not post the step by step guide url on how to convert f4v to wmv
