playing a slide show with music on dvd player

With my new computer I made a slide show with windows movie/media player. I
tried to play it in my new dvd player on tv. tv displays a computer looking
display but would not play. I burnt a new cd over to windvd, plays now on my
dvd player but the music is not playing properly but images are. I thought
making slide shows with all this new equipment would work, but devices not
reading each other properly. thanks
