I think what you are seeing are crashes being reported by what is
known as the Error Reporting Tool (aka ERT). Ref KB276550

Unfortunately the article does not make clear that the most common
reason for these crashes is interference from third-party programs.
And these days the most common class of those is malware,
including spyware.
