Please Help !! Cannot Acess Windows Update

Hi all,

I have been searching & trying every I found on the Internet about fixing
"The Windows Update Software did not update successfully (0x800b0004)" error,
but I have no luck at all. I have tried change the security level, add the
update sites to a trusted site list, checked date/time setting, check proxy
setting, check SSL setting, etc...
The strange thing is that I was able to run any update on this PC just fine,
but yesterday I try to download the updates but it didn't work.
I'm using Window 2000 pro with SP4

Does anyone have a solution to this ?

Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Eddie,

I am running Windows 98 and I have the same issue. I do know though with
mine, I forgot to check the "trust microsoft" check box when I downloaded my
updates. I have tried everything that you have tried and I can't get mine to
work either. I am ready to format the hard drive and reload. I hope someone
can help us.

Hey Fred -

I don't know if this will work with Win98, but I found this website and it
worked !!

http://www.updatexp.com/0x800B0004.html

Try STEP# 4 or Download the batch toward the end of the page and run it.
