Please help! What to do if Windows Update wont accept??

Need the 'optional ' update that its been trying to install since 10/06/07.
For (Dot4 USB printer). Refuses to let it install.
Can't find it anywhere else. HP is hopeless. Just tried to charge $18.00
bucks to get the disk For my purchased 'Vista Compatible' printer!
Got the disk ( yes, I threw a tantrum, got it for free ). & still need it to
upgrade to Vista Ultimate recommendations. According to the Vista Advisor
Tool.
It's a HP C3180 all in one printer. I also need the driver updates for Nivda
7350LE, Realtek HD Audio, Hauppauge Win TV HVR-1600 NTSC/ATS combo.
Any suggestions? Is there a way to work around & make it accept the update?
I'm starting to think its just not worth the trouble!
