Please help: Every program is shutting down

Can someone please help me. I am getting the following error message: " "
has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly,
windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I am getting this message on practically every program i open. At times all
programs shut down, one after another. How do i fix this? I have checked
for virus's and there is no virus, addware etc.

I would appreciate some help please. My toshiba is only 2 months old.

Try doing a System Restore to a point in time before you started
experiencing this problem.

If system restore closes down like all your other programs, run it from the
DVD by clicking 'repair' when it boots.
