Please Help or im screwed

hey when i start my computer i get nothing no icons start menu or
anything but i do get a my documents window and from there i have to
ctrl alt delete then go to file run and run explorer does anyone know
how to make it to where i dont have to do all that stuff to run explorer


basically does anyone know how to make it where when i start my
computer it is normal with explorer running?

Hi,

You have a damaged or altered shell entry in the registry. From Task
Manager, run regedit (instead of explorer). Expand the keys in the left pane
by clicking the triangles at left to reach this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Click on this key and locate the 'shell' string in the right pane. Double
click it, replace the contents with just

explorer.exe

Click ok, then close the registry editor and reboot the machine.
