I have a failed install of SP2 from back in Sept '04. I am attempting to
uninstall from the add/remove programs. It goes the the current configs,
checks the necessary space, stops the services, restores catalogs, runs the
processes. It deletes all files fine then begins copying files. It is 98%
done when I get a copy error. It says
"Set up cannot copy the file ntldr" RETRY or CANCEL
It also says...
"Ensure that the location specified below is correct, or change it and
insert 'WindowsNT Service Pack Uninstall Directory' in the drive you specify."
The location specified is
C:WINDOWS\$NTServicePAckUninstall$
What does this mean? I am running XP, not NT? Also the ntldr is not the only
file it cannot copy. I got to 25 and backed out of the install. What should I
do?

Peter,
Thank you for the link. I did everything as directed and it still did not
work. It says that it cannot find xpsp 2 res.dll.000. I had to restore my
system to March 1st. Also, too in the direction for uninstalling it says once
uninstalled to restore you system back to a date prior to installing. How do
I go back that far? My system restore only allows me to restore back a week.
SP2 was installed on Sept 28, 2004.
