Please HELP! Seagate external Back up Drive

      11-13-2008
I just purchased a seagate Free Agent Go Drive 250G external drive. After
over 2 hours on the fone with Seagate, they say it is a Microsoft problem.
The error message is this: The application has failed to start because its
side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Does ANYONE have a suggestion for
me. otherwise, I guess I'll just return the drive. Thank you!

What application failed to start? Can you be more specific? Did you install
new software? If you did NOT install new software, do you see the same error
when FreeAgent USB HD isn't attached?

I seriously doubt SideBySide errors has anything to do with your new
external HD unless you install new software that comes with the drive.

Perhaps you can download and install Microsoft Visual C++ runtime components
from the following:
