many users don't know the appropriate "run" entry to discover the error code
causing their problem and get the advice they need. A link I found an hour
ago I can't find now, nor can I simply find the command.

What?

Learn to search the Internet for answers...

Search using Google!
http://www.google.com/
(How-to: http://www.google.com/intl/en/help/basics.html )

Learn to keep answers in some way when you find them (Email yourself, write
it down, open notepad and make a new text file, etc...)

Run the below command from Start > Run

%windir%\windowsupdate.log

Click OK or press Enter and the windowsupdate.log opens
That's where the error codes are located

How to read the Windowsupdate.log file
