Please someone help me

UI recently updated my computer service pack 2, with a few updates including
some kind of removal tool when i restart i get a messag come up on screen
saying that services and controller app has encountered a problem and needs
to clos then i get another box appear that says the system has to shut down.
I have restored my comp to an earlier time and that sorts out the problem.
But what do i do about updating my computer if that is going to happen
everytime i do? Which update is bad?
