PLEASE --- Visual Styles for Vista

I made a huge leap getting a laptop with vista because I am a designer and a
hobby of mine is customizing my interface. Turns out that custom visual
styles are not supported with Vista? is this true?

I am DYING to have the ability to create custom interfaces like the example
below.

Can someone PLEASE help me with this. I love the glass look, but I would
also like the freedom to change my interface.

there are hundreds of visual styles for vista on deviantart.com
post there on the creators pages and ask for help..
I believe there is a forum?

I know about Stardock. I hate to use 3rd party app. They eat up my CPU and
MEMORY.

I work in After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator all at once so I need to
save my resources.

As for Deviant Art I tried there, but from what I found most of the Visual
Styles are for XP and not compatible with Vista... If someone knows a way I
would be very HAPPY in fact I will offer some free design work if someone
found a way.

I hate how microsoft limits Vista users so much when it comes to styles. Im
considering going back to XP if I cant find a fix for it.

ok here is the deal the visual styles on Dev-Art do not work with vista, I
asked around. I WISH THEY would badly.

I need to know if there is anyway to use non Aero visual styles with Vista?

Thats NO 2.

yes, I could turn off Aero, but then im stuck with an ugly window template,
not my cup of tea. I run intense programs like After Effects with ver 200
layers I need my system resources, but would also like a decent interface.

Vista was the biggest mistake I ever made if I cant fix this problem.


can someone offer me some help around here?

replied to you 100% correctly. Let me say this AGAIN:

I can assure you that there are visual styles on deviant art that can work
with vista and are glass capable...

I have seen them again and again and I am collecting them.

I gave you the correct leads about avaxhome, there also are many
vista -aero-capable themes.

In these downloads there is usually a special HACK called Uxtheme tweak for
vista... this enables vista to use non Microsoft themes.

Again all you have to do is search a little... I have also posted themes in
the past on this newsgroup...

these are vista specific themes that do not work with XP and have
transparencies and they DO NOT USE WINDOWBLINDS or other third party
software!
