This problem started near the end of December

Everytime, i turn on my computer i get a mssage saying

"RunDLL" - AS THE NAME OF THE MESAGE

"Error loading C:\Users\DIPENA~1\AppData\Local\Temp\pmnkj.dll

The specified module could not be found."

After closing this message evey so often my desktop disappears, meaning all
my desktop icons & the bottom task bar are gone & i cannot use the menu from
right clicking the mouse, all i cant se is the wall paper. Usually it comes
back in a minute other times it doesnt & i have to restart.

Your computer is infected with malware and requires a clean install
of Windows Vista.

It sounds like you had malware on the PC, the DLL was removed but the software failed to
remove the line item that loads the DLL and thus RUNDLL32 complains the DLL it was told to
load doesn't exist anymore.

Search the Registry for; C:\Users\DIPENA~1\AppData\Local\Temp\pmnkj.dll

Delete the line that loads...

rundll32.exe C:\Users\DIPENA~1\AppData\Local\Temp\pmnkj.dll

If the DeskTop disappears, load Task Manager and run; Explorer.exe
The DeskTop will load.

It sounds like it WAS loadind a Trojan but that Trojan DLL was removed.
It is too early to come to the conclusion it is so compramised that the OS needs to be wiped
and re-installed.

But hey...
Vista is "has tighter security" and Microsft says you won't get infected so how could Vista
ever be so compramised requiring a complete wipe/reload ? - ROFLOL

Vista protects against the careless and ignorant user. It can't do much
about the insane.
